Competition brake disc, floating, CNC, with 220mm diameter for Minarelli bolt circle

It's time for a new era again. The very first brake disc that is fully floating and does not require a carrier disc . With this brake disc, RPG finally offers a top product for the circuit . It took a good 1 1/2 years until we now offer this brake disc. Our driver tested the brake disc on the race track for over a whole year and was quite successful in the EST.

This is what it is

about a high-quality, high-end brake disc, with strict quality specifications : a very precise tolerance, a selected, hardened special alloy and a unique and well thought-out design. Optimized for best performance in all conditions.

material

The special alloy is based on well over 15 years of experience from our partner, who has developed countless brake discs for many large motorcycle manufacturers and tuning companies. It guarantees the best friction properties with minimal wear . Thanks to the special heat treatment , as used in MotoGP, the disc is perfect for very hot areas of use. For example in combination with ceramic or Z04 brake pads .

production

Unlike other manufacturers, our brake discs are not just laser cut, ground and finished, but each individual brake disc is cut out of the above-mentioned material and then elaborately CNC machined from both sides. Through CNC machining we guarantee the highest precision for maximum service life and function. Especially in the area of floaters, a high level of precision is required, which cannot be achieved with a laser. The numerous depressions, which are intended to drain water, dust and dirt from the friction surface and at the same time serve as a wear indicator, would not be possible without CNC machining.

Floaters

As mentioned above, this is the first truly floating brake disc without a carrier disc. The brake disc is connected to the wheel hub in a sufficiently centered manner via the three floaters using countersunk screws. Between the floater and the brake disc there is a multi-wave spring washer and a shim, which gives the brake disc a certain working area in order to be able to adapt perfectly to the pads. The “ floating effect ” can theoretically be increased or reduced by shims of different thicknesses.

The floaters themselves are available in four different versions. For M8 or M10 screws, as well as titanium (black coated) or aluminum (orange anodized). The alloys used both come from aerospace and are known for their high strength and low weight.
